Canon PowerShot A2100 IS Review

!±8± Canon PowerShot A2100 IS Review

The Canon PowerShot A2100 IS a rather simple looking camera. But don't be fooled by its deceptively simple looks. It is in fact unlike any of the recent camera launched in the market. At the outside, it has a regular Canon like steel body. The zoom lens looks compact, yet capable of a whole lot more. The body feels regular and familiar. Which translates to a lot of confidence in using the camera! No surprises leading to easier use and confident picture clicking. In fact, most users will be happy that the body is not alloy, which due to its unfamiliarity ensures that the body feels rather uncomfortable. At the back, there's a large format three inch LCD display that shows you everything. As it is, bright leading to great compositional capabilities. No stinginess on the part of the maker when it comes to display on the A2100 IS!

It is when you come to the features that the full impact of the camera begins to reveal itself. For starters, there's a never before 12.1 mega pixel of resolution. When coupled with the 6x optical zoom, you will finally have access to superior pictures and incredible image quality. This is powered at the backend by the 1/2.3 inch CCD that is a new introduction in cameras of this type. This little device is what make large format pictures with a resolution of up to 4000 x 3000 possible with the greatest ease. You can go ahead and shoot poster quality prints with the best photo resolution now.

The capabilities of this camera are in tune with its awesome resolution. As with most Canon cameras, it has a fabulous Optical Image Stabilizer. Proprietary technologies like Smart Auto give you a plethora of shooting options. In fact, there are a whole range of modes to choose from. Auto, Easy, Landscape, P, Portrait, Special Scene (Beach, Sunset, Night Scene, Foliage, Fireworks, Snow, Aquarium) Indoor, Kids & Pets, Snapshot (Night) and even Continuous Movie Shooting. Phew. If that spread of options doesn't impress you, I really don't know what will!

The other fascination aspect of this camera is the revolutionary face detection technology. Going beyond the obvious face recognition technology, this camera even offers a self-timer that is integrated with the face detection so that you can set it up and walk across and join the subjects. When the camera detects the new face in the frame, it will click! Isn't that really incredible? This is soon becoming one of the best loved features on the Canon range and the day is not far when other makers too will come up with their own take on this. With the Canon PowerShot A2100 IS, you won't ever go wrong!
